GCompare generates patch files for the distribution of file updates.
GPatch applies the patches.

The patch file can contain patches for any number of files.
The file format is optimized for size - the patch files are very short.
CRC error checking provides safe operations.
The programs work with any type of files.

The patch files are portabel. GPatch and GCompare executables are
available for some IX platforms and Windows.


Changes since previous version:

GCompare: It is possible now to append new patch data to a patchfile
containig already patch data of the file to itself.
GPatch: In the recursive mode GPatch stops working, if a patch of a file
to itself is detected (the previous versions reported a circular reference).
If a patchfile contains different patch data for a file, then GPatch uses
the last.

This makes the life easier with compare and patch scripts for directory
trees, if not all files are changed.
