Short: Apache 1.3.3 webserver for Amiga Author: Rüdiger Kuhlmann, Bert Vortman, based on work of guys from www.apache.org. Uploader: Ruediger.Kuhlmann@stud.uni-karlsruhe.de (Rüdiger Kuhlmann) Version: Apache 1.3.3 Diffs 1.1 (18.10.1998) Type: comm/www Requires: AmiTCP/Miami, ixemul.library, 68020, for compiling: GG environment Kurz: Apache 1.3.3 Web-Server für den Amiga Distribution: NoCD Homepage: http://apache.home.pages.de/ or mirrors (run by Bert Vortman) Homepage: http://www.uni-karlsruhe.de/~Ruediger.Kuhlmann/ (privat) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * "This product includes software developed by the Apache Group * for use in the Apache HTTP server project (http://www.apache.org/)." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Important note: In this distribution, the original code is modified. So by no means the stability or instability of the precompiled httpd affects the stability of the original Apache 1.3.3 under Unix. What is it? This is a modified binary distribution of Apache 1.3.3 Web-Server with diffs included for recompilation. Requirements: - Internet connectivity \ - TCP/IP stack which - ixemul.library / ixemul.library can handle - MC 68020+, 68040 recommended - executehack - UnixDirs3 - MuFS (Multi-User-File-System) for security - GG environment for compiling History: Apache is the most used webserver in the world. Although the Amiga platform is not officially supported, there used to exist patches to make the source compile on an amiga. The newest one by Bert Vortman was for Apache 1.3b5, but since this was a beta version, no source to patch existed. Because of that I patched the *latest* (uhmm, hours later the new 1.3.3 was released) sources with the patches for 1.3b5. I hand-checked and corrected every patch applied, converted some function names to the new naming scheme in 1.3.2, changed some things in os/amiga/os.h and os-inline.h and made a few other chenges, and typed make. The result is a working Apache 1.3.2. After some more working and code-cleanup, Aache 1.3.3 works. Installation: For installing and configuring the pre-compiled httpd, please refer to http://apache.home.pages.de/. You can download additional necessarities from there, too. Note: my precompiled httpd has mod_rewrite included, in opposite to Bert Vortman's. For compiling, you have to have a working GG environment installed; executehack would be a good option, too. Refer to apache_1.3.3/apache_1.3.3.diffs.readme in the archive. Todo: Document all code changes made. Bugs: I'm not sure whether httpd is stable now. Exiting it *might* crash your system, although it worked right well now. Copyright: See the file "LICENSE", which is the license under which Apache can be redistributed. It allows binary and source redistributions even with modified source, but under their copyright. You can use it free of charge. I would be very appreciated if you send me a postcard if you use it. I included parts of the archive "apache_1.3b5.lha" made by Bert Vortman. To be honest: The files made by me are just: * rkApache.readme * httpd * Apache_1.3.2.diffs * Apache_1.3.2.readme Bert Vortman is hereby happily invited to include this material on his server.
